Woman in her 50s alleges she was raped by man in the internet, Craigslist

NEW YORK — A woman in her 30s claims she was sexually assaulted by a man in a Craigslist ad she saw while shopping for a new car.

The woman, who was not identified, told police she was at a car dealership in the Bronx on Oct. 23 when a man approached her from behind, pulled her to the ground and pinned her to a wall, according to a criminal complaint filed in Bronx federal court.

“He was grabbing me from behind and pushing me onto the ground,” the woman said in the complaint.

“I was yelling and screaming, but he was still standing there.”

Police said the woman’s description matches that of a person identified in the Craigslist ad as the man who sexually assaulted her in the parking lot of a Brooklyn apartment complex on Oct 18.

She was also assaulted twice at a nearby subway station by a person in a red sedan who also wore a white mask, according the complaint, which was filed in Brooklyn federal court Tuesday.

The NYPD’s Special Victims Unit, which investigates sexual assault allegations, is investigating the incident.
